  2. Ottis Media (Middle Ear Infection)- The area that is infected is behind the ear drum where air pressure is regulated. Bacteria and viruses get into this space which causes inflammation and the build up of pressure. This type of infection usually causes a fever and a throbbing pain in the ear.

Ear infections often become a chronic problem due to the anatomy of the ear.
